 In
fact, Castellina
in Chianti
was a strategic military
outpost, defending
the Florentine
Republics' borders,
from the attack of
the Republic
of Siena.
After the conquest
of Siena
the Palace property
and its territories
passed to the Ugolini
family.
They completed the
Palace, building its
front as it looks
today: with family
armorial bearings
made of two panthers
placed side by side.
As remains of the
Squarcialupi
family we just have
armorial bearings
in a room at the first
floor of the Palace.
The Ugolini family
transformed the Palace
in a luxury residence
providing it with
a wine cellar and
a farm, which have
been maintained by
the present owners.
They have patiently
revitalized the farm
and completely restored
the Palace. |

 On
the top floors, it
houses the Albergo
Squarcialupi,
while the lower floors
have maintained their
traditional farming
character: in the
stone-vaulted wine
cellars, the Classic
Chianti "La Castellina
" is still
produced today, obtained
from the prestigious
grape varieties which
extend over the countryside
nearby.
The Hotel, with fifteen
large rooms, two Superiors
and three communal
rooms, is cast in
medieval setting to
which the very walls
give silent testimony.
Every room, provided
with bathroom, telephone,
air conditioning/heating,
mini bar and satellite
colour TV, offers
maximum comfort for
a peaceful and relaxing
stay.
At the hotels'
bar, the wine-tasting
room or a the panoramic
terrace, guests can
taste the house wine,
admiring a beautiful
view to the Chianti
hills.
 Moreover,
rooms offer a view
either to the hills
(better saying to
a breathtaking valley)
or to the village's
center.
We have only 17 rooms
altogether: 9 standard
rooms, 6 junior-suites
and 2 Superiors.
As for other facilities,
we have a spacious
living room, frescoed
playing-room, breakfast-room,
cellar with own production
of Chianti
Classico and
free wine tasting.

different categories
and two Superiors.
Each room, provided
with bathroom (with
shower or bath), satellite
TV, mini bar, telephone,
air conditioning and
heating, offers a
high comfort for a
pleasant and relaxing
stay.

have a third bed put

We
have three rooms
categories:
 Superior
(two
rooms available):
about 40 sm wide,
with a big living
room, panoramic
view, bathroom in
Carrara marble.
 Junior
Suite (six
rooms available):
at the first floor,
wide rooms, with
Carrara marble bathrooms.
 Standard
(nine
rooms available):
at the second floor,
with spacious rooms
in mansard style,
a typical farmhouse
style furniture
and a living area.
