Palazzo
Squarcialupi is part
of the history of Castellina
in Chianti. It is
situated in the historical
town center, on a road running
along the XV century City
Wall.
It has medieval origins,
and, from the 2nd half of
the XV Century, thanks to
the Florentine
Squarcialupi family,
it has been renewed becoming
a luxury Palace.
At the moment it is the
most important example of
civil building in Castellina
historical center. Political
and military events occurred
during the period from 1400
until the second half of
1500 (when Florence
captured Siena)
established the Squarcialupi
family in Castellina. |
