  Magnificent Siena

Built on three hills, is characterized by steep slants, narrow and tortuous roads and sudden vistas on verdant valleys.

The town reached its greatest splendour during the Middle Age, as proved by the monuments and the artistic heritage of the Sienese Gothic style .

Walking through its streets, its alleys and squares is the best way to "feel" the special atmosphere of this town which is characterized by a strong relation with the Contrada, the most important matter to any real Sienese inhabitant: Contrada is the district of the town where the Sienese lives.

Actually, only 17 are left and they compete in the most extraordinary and famous horse race which is the Palio.

Besides visiting a Contrada, the city tour includes Piazza del Campo to admire the Palazzo Pubblico, Piazza del Duomo with the astonishing Cathedral structure and Spedale di Santa Maria della Scala.

In the afternoon visit to the Enoteca Italiana which is located within the historical Medici Fortress, a magnificent example of 16th century military architecture.
