  Abbeys and Montalcino Wine

South of Siena the countryside is offering the very peculiar landscape of the so called "Crete Senesi": an endless series of hills which spread all around like waves in the sea and change colour according to the season

In the middle of those hills, in a dark green spot of tall cypresses lays the
Monte Oliveto Maggiore Abbey, a magnificent example of XIV century architecture, where you can breath the calm and the peace of a praying place.

After a visit to this Abbey, will proceed on for
Montalcino, a small but graceful village located on the top of a hill: walking tour of the town, tasting of typical products and wine on request.

On the way to the village, will stop by a Brunello wine producer.

After Montalcino we will reach the most beautiful roman church in the Sienese area, the
Sant'Antimo Abbey where Dominican monks from all over the world are still celebrating the holy mass according to the old latin tradition (on Sunday only).
