This Porcelain is a unique piece. It was painted by hand, with brush and pen-nib. It was glazed four times or more in a special oven at 780 degrees celsius.
Antonella Franchi

The painting on porcelain is an ancient art in which famous painters or craftsmen have embarked.

The porcelain allows a very refined result, but the complexity of the working guarantees the unicity of each single piece.

The traditional technique has a first stage of painting with pen-nib, followed by the first cooking at 780° Celsius in a special oven.

During the next stages the working is done with different kind of brush, depending on the type of painting.

The technique of the tamponment is used for a large part or for a base of drawing; this technique allows to have homogeneity in the color amalgamated with a foam rubber or a silk tampon.

Each colour is painted, is followed by a cooking until the shades we want to have are achieved.

The working is often finished with the last cooking with gold, silver or platinum.

To have a simple piece of porcelain 3 or 4 cookings are needed, but to have more precious and refined porcelain even more.
